Restoring/repairing furniture used to be commonplace. With industrialization and the sudden availability of cheap furniture, restoration receded. Nowadays, restoring and even redesigning existing furniture is slowly coming back into fashion.
I believe it is our environmental responsibility, as it helps reduce our footprint on this planet. I will be happy to restore/repair or even redesign any of your favorite pieces of furniture.
